It can be argued that I really don't draw enough Rainbow Dash fanart. Just a simple little portrait of our favorite speedster pony, ready to dash off for some trick practice or other such activities in the immediate future.
I like all the ponies especially the mane 6, Luna, Vinyl Scratch, and Trixie. Dash is kindof the way I wanted to be while Fluttershy is how I really am. Also the first fanfics I encounted were Cupcakes & My Little Dashie. ~_^
Oh ahah, I see! Well apparently I frequently remind people of Rarity (the avatar may or may not have anything to do with this), and honestly she is the pony who I am most like, probably... according to my Bronyland personality profile there may be little traces of Pinkie Pie and/or Twilight Sparkle thrown in there as well. In any case I agree with you, this series is definitely full of many wonderful characters.
Oh heehee, well I suppose I can take that as a compliment but no, I definitely don't roleplay... I'm arguably far too old for such a thing at this point, really. For the most part I think I honestly do type exactly as I think/speak, and my recent Cutie Art Crusaders interview was probably a good example of this!
Cool. I'll never be too old to watch cartoons and roleplay, but I understand. I try to type how I think, but I hate, hate spelling errors. Compliments are plentiful, I only question some people's subject matter, never art quality, that I can ignore.
Meheh, I suppose you probably do have a good point about the watching cartoons thing... if I'm not to old to be drawing pony-fanart then arguably I shouldn't be too old for role-playing. But, for better or for worse I guess it just isn't my thing, and at least I can agree that spelling and grammatical errors are horribly annoying... I really wish deviantART had an 'edit comment' feature.
Thank you very much! Since this shot of Rainbow ended up being "staged" in full daylight, I was able to keep the colors quite saturated and didn't have to worry too much about shading her multi-hued mane (which I admittedly find to be a challenge, generally!). I appreciate the comment!
Oh you're always so sweet, thank you very much dear! I'm glad you like the coloring... originally I wanted to use an evening sky as the background, but for whatever reason it didn't look right and so I went with what you see here. I'm happy you like it regardless of my initial misgivings!
Hmmm, a night backdrop would have looked interesting with the full moon in the background with Dash. But still, this is just as awesome! If I think it's awesome, than it is awesome! And this piece is awesome! (sorry if I used awesome 3 times in the last 3 sentences)
Haha that's quite alright; I'm sure Rainbow Dash herself would have approved of the comment wholeheartedly! And well by "evening" I actually meant early evening like sunset/twilight, but for better or for worse I went with midday. Thank you again, in any case!
Oh well that's incredibly kind of you, thank you for that. I'm not sure if this is one of my stronger works composition-wise, but I'm happy that you like the coloring (seemingly, anyway) at least. Thank you again!
Recently I've been seeing so many great pIctures and wondering how I'd missed seeing them beforehand. But I really don't know how I missed seeing something of yours! Everything you produce seems to be a true work of art I especially like how you've drawn her mane, sort of stylishly wind blown. I hope you enjoy drawing them as much as everyone enjoys seeing them.
Thank you so much for that lovely comment! In answer to your remark yes, I most certainly enjoy being able to create fanart, and I'm thrilled if that shows at all in the finished product! I'm so happy that you enjoy my work, and this piece included... again, thank you and much appreciated!
Rainbow Dash is so cute! I love how sometimes she's the cutest pony, because she just makes some of the most unexpected expressions. Then again, don't all the ponies do that? They all have their own unique way, and each pony has such a strong charm all their own.
I love her look of confidence and that little smile. I wouldn't have her any other way.
I quite agree. In her own way, Rainbow Dash really is adorable, and it's moments like that, when I find myself appreciating her own brash charm that I wonder why I don't create more fanart of her (as of course, these moments nearly always seem to come when I don't have any free time at my disposal). I'm so glad that you enjoyed this particular little artwork of her, thank you very much!
I usually do (when I'm not working exclusively on commissions, as has recently been the case), but I honestly do find Rainbow enjoyable to sketch... her attitude and gusto present a unique way to express myself when drawing ponies. Anyway I'm very happy to hear that you enjoy my interpretation, and thank you very much for the kind words!
I like Dash a lot because she has a lot of qualities in her personality that I personally like. (Loyalty, bravery, spirit of adventure, guts) She's not perfect, (vain, self-absorbed, blunt, egotistical) but I think that's what makes her a good character.
I like her for the features I wish I had, I'm not that brave, I'm pretty glum, I have a pretty poor self image, and a small easily bruised ego. (I think I liked Darkwing Duck as a child for the same reasons! XD)
She also reminds me a LOT of my little sister in terms of personality. She's the youngest but she's determined to make her mark and stand out from the rest of us.
I can understand this... it's rather similar for me and Applejack to a certain extent I guess (I really like her for her many personality traits that I admire but don't necessarily possess, I suppose is what I mean). Kind of the opposite of Rarity, who has always been my favorite because I've felt I can relate to her on so many levels!
