Commission: Soviet Rarity by WhiteDiamondsLtd Commission: Soviet Rarity by WhiteDiamondsLtd
Finally, nearly a month after I actually finished work on the original version of this piece (as you see it here) and several months after starting talks with my client ~KerenskyLI planning it out, I am able to post this at last. This piece took me quite outside my comfort zone as I still don't consider myself especially proficient with drawing/painting complicated inorganic objects (which I suppose a Russian KV-85 tank would certainly qualify as) but in the end I'm relatively happy with it, and am relieved to be able to post it at last.

In my own opinion, this picture is quite reminiscent of my Steampunk Rarity artwork in many ways, but this is essentially exactly what my client asked for and he was happy with it, which is the most important thing of course! And I did have quite a lot of fun working on it, which is always a nice thing.

Rarity in a Zobel with a expensive brooch. That suits her. And you did a awesome job in shadowing her and the rest of the picture. About the Tank is not much i can say. I love drawing tech designs, even that will take a lot of time. And this one is done well. All i miss is the typical lettering and a painted flag on the tower.

I don't think that there would be any unicorn or pegasus in a Hooviet State (Question of equality, you know, with the power that comes with it...); Rarity should have her horn removed or something...

This reminds me of a poem that many Russian troops held close to their heart......

"Wait for me, and i return only wait very hard.Wait as you are filled with sorrow as you watch the yellow rain.
Wait when the winds sweep the snow drifts. Wait in the sweltering heat.
Wait when others have stopped waiting, forgetting their yesterdays. Wait even when from afar no letters come to you.
Wait even when others are tired of waiting. Wait even when my mother and son think i am no more.
And when friends sit around the fire drinking to my memory, wait and do not hurry to drink to my memory too wait, for i'll return defying every dead. And let those who did not wait say that i was lucky.
They never will understand that in the midst of death, you with your waiting saved me.Only you and i will now how i survived.
Its because you waited as no one else did..."

I heard this in a documentary and i just had to write it down hmm i guess somehow this wonderful piece of art brought this up even though no violence is in this very impressive indeed :)

Normally I don't like weapon or war machine pictures. ;)
But you made such an epic picture with this topic and Rarity, that I have to  it.

I am in love with this pic. I can really see the work you put into it, and the details look like pure perfection. :)
